The details given in applications for membership or events (known as personal data) will be used for the purposes of administration and keeping members informed of the Association’s activities and events.
These details are recorded on computer; the principal benefits include ease of communications with members, significant savings in time spent by your volunteer committee, and manageable membership records. Data will be retained only as long as is necessary for these purposes.
Members’ personal data are maintained on computer by the Membership Secretary. Access to personal data is limited to Members of the Committee and the Newsletter Editor as necessary for the purposes of maintaining membership records and distributing information to members about the Association’s activities. Personal data will not be disclosed to any other person or body unless required by law.
If you do not wish your personal data to be kept in the membership records, please write to the Membership Secretary. The retention of personal data in the membership records is not a contractual requirement or obligation but without it communication with you may be impaired.
If you are dissatisfied about the management or retention of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory body.
